The Rustic Pi Coffee Table Made From New Orleans Barge Board

The Pi Table is a hand crafted coffee table made from reclaimed New Orleans wood. The wood I use once belonged to old homes damaged during Hurricane Katrina. The homes have been torn down but their patina carries on.

In New Orleans this type of wood is called barge board. Its history dates back to 1803 after the United States purchased Louisiana and New Orleans. After the purchase, Americans along the East Coast began to steadily migrate in to New Orleans. They built barges and floated them down river. Once here, they took apart their barges and used the wood to build their new homes. The wood used in this table dates back nearly 200 years ago and has the scars and charm to show its age.

The table measures 45" wide x 21" deep x 19" high. Each piece is made to order and is uniquely different in its patterns and markings. Tables can be customized to your preference. I offer a variety of different stains and sizes. Some larger sizes may increase the price.
