I begin with a 12x12 MDF frame with an opening for a 5x7 photo and I applied a variety of materials including ceramic tile, stained glass, china shards, marbles, faux pearls, vintage jewelry and buttons, ribbon trim with a rhinestone embellishment, ribbon rosettes, and other found objects. In lieu of traditional grout, the space between the pieces is filled with a mixture of seed beads and tiny holeless beads.
