Two Renaissance-Style Shirts

These 2 shirts were made for a buyer who wanted a specific, not necessarily period, look. The fabrics, a white-on-white paisley print and a light weight cotton embroidered with rayon, were his choices.

The paisley shirt has flat-felled seams; shoulder, neck and sleeve gussets; a double layer of lace at the collar, cuffs and front slit; and a tie closure. The fabric is 100% cotton and the lace is rayon. It is machine washable and dryable. The sleeves are extremely full and puffy.

The embroidered shirt has neck and underarm gussets. All the seams are serged and stitched down for a clean finish inside. The collar and cuff lace is attached with hand embroidery. The cuff lace is a double layer. Closure is a Chinese ball button with loop. It features dropped shoulders and narrow band cuffs.
