I loved the rich autumn colors in this fabric when it was a boucle skirt (especially the burgundy velvet waistband - divine!) , but it was fraying in several spots and was unwearable. But I couldn't pass it by, so I took it home, deconstructed it, reworked it and sewed it back together, and it's now an adorable purse with my own design of golden poppies printed on the front! In true reduce/reuse/recycle fashion, I re-used fabric from another skirt for the base of the screen print and appliqued in into place, and used a strip of fabric from the hem of the skirt to make the shoulder strap. I've added two magnetic snap sets along the top to keep all your belongings safe!
