North carolina yellow pine (hard wood) walking staffs
A number of years ago I had back problems. Canes were too low standing and provided little assistance. I decided to make a walking staff that was 54 inches tall to fit my six foot frame. It worked like a charm. When I solved the back problem I joined a hiking group found the staff essential. Some in the group commissioned me to provide them with a similar staff and I have been making them for some time. The North Carolina Yellow Pine is thin, light and very strong. It has wonderful grain and finishes quite beautifully. Many seem to love them. I enjoy creating them in a custom design to fit the spirit of the user.
