The seat is carved in a what that invites a person to slide all the way back so their back is resting on the back rest with their feet resting gently on the foot rest. The entire back part of the back rest is curved going from side to side and from top to bottom with back leg shaped using a rasp, file, sandpaper to shape it and bring the back rest right into the leg. Ebony plugs are used to provided an aesthetic quality along with covering the few screws that are used in the stool. There are two screws in each leg that go into the seat creating a 'V' shape. This along with the already durable and strong leg joint, ensure that the leg will not come off of the seat at all. The other screws are used to add further strength to the joints ensuring they last for generations.
