Rebecca and Jeffrey didn't want standard beach imagery - waves and sandcastles were too ordinary. They wanted something that actually reflected that light, airy beach feel - bringing in elements of driftwood and translucence. The images of shore birds and beach grasses were "blind printed" without ink, leaving just the deep breathless letterpress impression. We mixed a pale blush color for the romantically scripted text, affixed the invitation to a real wood backer, bound the pieces with natural twine and enclosed everything in translucent sea green envelopes. This is one of our favorite invitation packages we have ever worked on because it truly showcases the best of what letterpress printing has to offer. Of course, we used thick 100% recycled cotton paper and 100% vegetable based inks. Every letterpress printed piece is brought to life one at a time, hand fed through an antique printing press that creates a deep textural impression, and crafted with artistic attention to detail.
