Wegner Style Slat Bench
A tribute to the famous Danish furniture maker Hans Wegner, our Slat Bench showcases advanced construction techniques and an amazing, hand-selected piece of Pennsylvania walnut contrasted with cherry slats. The grain and color in this piece is worthy of museum quality furniture. From every angle, including the underside, you will be amazed at the flame-like grain pattern washing across this bench. With its 46 hand-fitted mortise and tenon joints that are then pegged, you will not find a single nail, screw or piece of metal. We use an oil/urethane finish that brings out the natural beauty in wood. No stains, no toners, no glazes. The satin, low luster finish provides a subtle shine without distracting your eyes from the inherent beauty of the wood.
At six feet long, this bench will work anywhere: in your entry way, at the foot of your bed, or with your dining room table.
I have one bench that is made and ready to go. New benches take approximately 4 weeks once we begin construction.
