This cowhide suede dog coat is inspired by historic museum garments when native Indians decorated captured military uniforms. The stand up collar has two buffalo nickel conchos and is trimmed in braid (as is the coat edge). The back is decorated with genuine bone pipe beads and bone colored bead detail to resemble an Indian breastplate.. This is actually one of my favorite coats. I worked in museology in Canada researching native Eskimo garments and had access in the vaults to their garment collection. So this design brings my life experience full circle.
