I had the fortune of total artistic freedom on this walnut writing desk. Meant to be easy on the eye, the walnut and cherry combination works well against the soft curves and subtle variations. The writing surface is a thick cherry veneer with a "pooled" edge. The pulls are wenge and the drawers are quartersawn white oak who's wood came off of the frame of an 1880's Montana rail car.
