This style of whistle was created because my daughter asked if I could make one she'd seen in a book. I took that idea and made a couple of modifications and now you get what you see here.

Whistles are best made with hardwoods due to their robust nature.
They are great for kids to play with and can be helpful in many ways. For instance, you or your child or adult friend are separated in a store, at a camp site, playing Marco Polo...blow this and as long as they know to listen for it they can find you.
