The bigger picture, the philosophy so to speak, behind my work, is to rekindle what I consider to be the most organic, wholesome furniture I've ever known: the Stickley, Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie decor. This sconce, or wood wall lamp, is made in that vein.
The materials are of Australian Poplar and are intended to accentuate the center piece of a wall by offering a beautiful flanking warm light. All too often I see designers create a flavorful item to mount upon the main wall of a domicile and yet the item doesn't have any spark because the proper lighting is missing. Here, instead, the lighting is not only present and will highlight the textures of your favorite pieces, but the light itself is a work of art.
Frank Lloyd Wright, whom I consider to be the master of space manipulation, never made a piece of furniture that didn't tie into an overall guiding theme. I feel that this sconce can bring a sense of beatific unity to that part of a house or apartment that everyone notices first: the walls.
