Bronze Fish Penannular Cloak Pin, Coat Clasp, Shawl Pin Brooch

This is a beautiful penannular pin designed to hold a cloak, coat or stole secure. It follows the classic shape, thousands of years old, of an open ring with a moveable sharp pin. The pin is put through the fabric, then the ring is rotated to hold it fast in place.

The ring consists of a solid bronze tapered round rod with ball finials. Attached to the ring is a hand carved bronze fish pendant, which swings freely. Between the jump rings for the fish is a hammered bronze pin hand filed to a sharp point.

This is a beautiful and substantial pin, suitable for everyday wearing. It also could be useful with a Medieval Costume (Game of Thrones, anyone?) without being costume jewelry. It is solid bronze, and if buried today would emerge beautiful a thousand years hence.

Size: Ring approx 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) in diameter , stick approx 4" (10 cm) long.

Also available in silver.

Please take this as a starting point to create your fantasy piece. Since each piece is hand made, it is easy enough for me to start with your vision.
