The technique of Cloisonné Enamel makes up the dolphin glass jewel of this pendant. It entails carefully bending pure silver ribbons of wire and fusing them to a pure silver surface with clear enamel. The subsequent layers of colored enamel are kiln fired as many as 20 times. 24 karat gold and pure silver foils are fired into the layers to create a shimmering effect. After all the firings are complete, the enamel dolphin gets sanded down so the wires are flush to the glass. A high polish then gives a gorgeous effect of depth and translucency to the glass enamel. After that, it is bezel set in a carefully handcrafted sterling silver and 14 karat gold setting with an elegant Aquamarine. The technique is quite labor intensive, but the results are magically beautiful pieces of finely handcrafted jewelry.
