These earrings are part of my 5th Collection of all earrings inspired from Georgian Designs all the way up to Retro Designs or from the mid 1700's to the 1940's.
The particular inspiration for these earrings came from the Art Nouveau Period, around 1890's to 1920's.
The original earrings were screw ons with shell cameos. I cut the backs off and took a mold of the original shell cameo and bezel. From there, I made a wax casting, with the wax casting I hollowed out the backs to make each earring light and practical to wear. At that point, I remolded the finished wax and cast this lovely pair of earrings in solid sterling silver. Finally, I soldered on posts and then slipped on the backs.
These cameos are of a woman's profile looking each direction and measure 20mm's by 15mm's, the bezel settings measure 21mm's by 16mm's...
Earrings are 4mm's thick and are for pierced ears...
